SG Dec11 - Singapore Zoo

Again, this is a back dated post.

Singapore Zoo is the first place of interest that we visited upon our trip to Singapore.

At the entrance, took a photo with 弟弟 first.

Inside the zoo...

It's not a good day, drizzled. We had to carry umbrella on and off.

We managed to see the Elephant Show as we visited at afternoon time.

However, the show theater is so crowded especially all the audiences with umbrellas.

We just stop and watched for a while and then proceed to other area.

We see a lot of animals there but the most attractive part is Pony Ride.

I found the Pony Ride in the map provided and requested mommy to bring me there.

It was raining day, pony is not out for the ride. We went there but no pony there. Kind of disappointed.

After a while, 舅舅 brought me to check again. This time, the pony is out as rain is stopped.

Finally I had a chance to ride on a pony! It was a very great experience. This is also my first pony ride.

Before the pony ride, it was rain heavily. We went for the Carousel Ride as it's covered.

The 3rd ride we had in the zoo was Boat Ride. We took the boat trip before we ended our visit there.

It was a great trip and we did enjoy seeing those animals. But as I mentioned pony ride still the best and I told 舅舅 I want to visit zoo again just for the ride :)

Cartoon Butter Cookies

Mommy baked some butter cookies for us last weekend.

Those cookies are cute as it was cut into cartoon shape.

There are Piglet, Minnie, Mickey, Pooh and Hello Kitty.

Those cartoon cookies are for the kids.

Mommy also prepared some for adults as below.

Strawberry Butter Cookies with star & heart shape.

The butter cookies recipe as below:

Ingredients:

150g butter at room temperature

100g icing sugar

1 egg

250g rising flour

Method:

1) Beat well butter and sugar till butter change to lighter color.

2) Add egg and continue to beat well.

3) Add in flour and mix well.

4) Wrap in plastic and keep the dough in fridge for at least 1 hour.

5) Roll the dough to 3mm thickness and cut into the shape you like.

6) Bake in oven at 180’C for 12-15min till golden brown.

This recipe not really give a good hardness on the dough to roll out and cut into desired cookies shape. It's too soft even mommy kept in fridge for more than an hour. This recipe is more appropriate for piping cookies. Mommy have to use a lot of flour to prevent it stick on the rolling pin and table. Mommy still try to find a better recipe for molding butter cookies.

Dinner with mommy's friends

Tonight I follow mommy went to a dinner with her friends.

We went to Good Friend Seafood restaurant at Bayan Lepas.

This is a new restaurant, for us at least.

It's the same as Good Friend at Teluk Kumbar, but this is nearer...to us.

No seaview as it's just opposite Dynacraft factory.

It also open during lunch time where they served economy rice, chicken rice and "choo char".

Now I can eat spicy food, in fact I like spicy food now.

Like I can eat Char Koay Teow with little bit of chili, Hokkien Mee without chili but the soup taste a bit spicy to me also.

Good Friend's satay grilled together with the sauce, so it taste a little bit spicy but it's just nice for me. I took 2 sticks before the dinner.

Mommy special ordered a fried egg for me as she knows that I am a picky eater.

But actually I had my dinner with fried Kai Lan (crispy type), fish and fried egg.

There are 12 crabs that ordered for 6 adults.

First time I tried crab meat and I think it's delicious. I like it!

From now onwards, mommy can bring me to seafood dinner as I can eat few of the seafood dishes already.

Car Free Day

Penang Car Free Day starts on 11-Dec-2011. Since then every Sunday, 7am - 1pm, the area around Beach Street is closed for motor vehicles.

We went to Beach Street area on last weekend. This is the first time we visit to that area since Penang Car Free Day implemented 11-Dec.

There are people cycling on the road, around that area as only bicycle is allowed.

Some family even brought badminton rackets along, may be they played badminton in the middle of the road.

Some came with their professional camera, I think this is a good opportunity to get a very good angle photo shoot without worry about the vehicle on the road.

There is a temporary stage in the middle of the road by the time we were there.

But we don't know what is the purpose as we went there around 11am.

We also took some photos on the street but mommy tried not to let 弟弟 run in the middle of the road as this will let

弟弟 thought that he is allow to do so...all the time.

We took a rest at Old Town restaurant after the walk around that area.

It was a good walk but I think we should go there earlier next time as 11am is too hot for us.

SG Dec'11 - Flyer

Singapore Flyer

We went to Singapore Flyer on our 2nd day evening in SG.

Weather was not good that evening, raining day. Not able to see sunset there.

弟弟 did not scare going high high as it moved very slow and you won't really feel it's moving.

In fact, I was a bit scared as I know the Flyer was moving at very high position as I can see from the view.

Down from the Flyer, it's time for dinner.

Just at the Ground Floor (if not mistaken) there is a hawker center named Singapore Food Trail. There are lots of hawker food and we had our dinner there.

I had my favorite Hokkien Char, a bit different from Penang style but still taste good for me.

Mommy had Satay Mee Hoon, sound special, right? Not bad, curry taste.

We did try the Fried Oyster as well, taste good.

Overall the food over there is good for us and we did enjoy the dinner.

2011 Year End Countdown @ SG

Our 2011 Year End countdown happened in Singapore.

Special THANKS to 舅舅 that arranged for us to experience the countdown in SG.

We checked in The Fullerton Hotel on 31st Dec.

With Year End Countdown package, we were entitled to watch the fireworks at the One Fullerton rooftop.

Hotel decoration for Christmas & welcome New Year 2012.

The Christmas Tree is made of little Teddies.

As the hotel guest, we got this little teddy as festive gift.

There are thousands of balloon up there and ready for new year countdown.

Mommy said those balloons will be dropping down during the countdown, but we didn't see it as we were up to rooftop to watch fireworks.

Afternoon about 5pm, we had a walk along the Marina Bay area.

People already started to camp there waiting for the countdown.

All the nearby restaurants fully booked for the countdown party as well.

Road closed at 6pm, not easy for us to go out and there will be heavy traffic jammed as well.

舅舅 helped to "ta pao" some dinner for us and we had our year end dinner in the hotel room.

See...got Fried Oyster, Fried Rice, Hokkien Char, Satay, Otak-Otak, Poh Piah....etc.

The crowd down the road at night, all were going for the countdown.

弟弟 is very happy up on the rooftop, he did enjoy the fireworks but the smoke and sound is kind of annoy for him.

After this experience, whenever he saw fireworks or the photo, he will said : "bomb...bomb...美美..."

3...2...1....bomb!....Welcome 2012 with spectacular fireworks.

Chinese New Year 2012

Time flies...and it flies really fast...

Now it's time to celebrate Chinese New Year - year of Dragon.

After we back from Singapore trip, mommy got no time to organize all those photos and post our trip as well. She has to start busy on CNY preparation such as baking cookies, buying those new year's stuff, buy new clothes for us...etc.

This year she baked pineapple cookies & fried crab stick.

She did buy some ingredients to bake the dragon cookies as previous year, but she didn'tmake any at the end. Why? No time.

This year 姨姨 back on the 2nd day of CNY, so happen that 舅舅 still here, they got chance to meet up. Previous year 姨姨&舅舅 back on different day and they usually not able to meet each other.

We take this opportunity to take our family photo.

As usual, we will visit to Kek Lok Si temple on CNY.

This year, 姨姨 is following us there as well.

We went on 2nd day of CNY, expected to have bad traffic jam and parking problem.

We only managed to visit the 观音 area as there was a long long queue for the tram ride toward Kek Lok Si temple.

We didn't want to queue as BB Eugene is along, he started to make noise when we wait for too long.

My 6-year-old Birthday

It's my birthday and I turn 6 today.

This birthday is kind of special for me as there are so many first time.

First time I celebrate my birthday at Ah Mah's house. We didn't go to restaurant, we didn't celebrate at school, we have a very traditional birthday celebration at home. As papa is not around, we celebrate at Ah Mah's house. This is also first time papa didn't celebrate together on my birthday.

Mommy baked a birthday cake for me, decorated with my favorite: sweets and marshmallow.

This is my first homemade birthday cake from mommy.

Ah Mah helped to prepare the others like chicken, fried noodles, red eggs and jelly.

Mommy did fry some prawn tempura and fish finger as well.

弟弟 non-stop eating the sweets and marshmallow while we were taking photo.

Year End Holiday - SG Dec11

We spent our year end holiday in Singapore for 2011.

It's really year end, as our holiday started on 27th and ended on 1st Jan. What a great memory!

This is 弟弟 first trip to Singapore and it's my second trip. My first trip was when I was 17months old.

This trip we saw a lot of elephant in SG, everywhere...

That is Elephant Parade is in Singapore! It's an exhibition of decorated elephant statues that seeks public awareness and support for Asian elephant conservation.

You can find the details info and elephant photo here.

Total there are 162 elephants but we only managed to take photo with 59 elephants.

We missed few on our first day to SG as that time I still not really like to take photo with those elephants.

Visit to dental again

Today I visit to dental again to pull out my central incisor on my upper teeth as it's going to fall out.

This is my 3rd tooth that pulled out so far.

To help me remember which tooth has been replaced to permanent teeth, below is my tooth charts that mommy help to make for me.

The pink cross mark is today pulled out tooth.

The blue cross marks was pulled out last year.

2011 Christmas

2011 Christmas is a different christmas to me so far.

Previous years, we will be having buffet dinner on Christmas Eve and this does not change for year 2011. But why I said this year is so special?

This year I am the caroller!

I joint our school event which we need to be carollers in hotels.

We went to 3 hotels on Christmas Eve which are: Gurney Hotel, Northam Hotel and E&O Hotel.

On Christmas Day, we only went to E&O hotel but there are 2 performance which at 5pm & 7pm.

Mommy purposely arranged the buffet dinner on Christmas Eve at E&O Hotel so that they can meet me there and also fetch me home from there.

We just sang in front of mommy's dinning table and 弟弟 wanted to join our carolling.

After the carolling, hotel did provide us some snacks, enjoying together with my friends.

Interview & Test -- Result

Remember I went to an interview & test on November for the early entry to Standard 1?

Just after we reached Ah Mah's house after our year end holiday, we immediately went to check the mail box as we were suppose to receive the notification letter by end of Dec.

Yes, we received the letter but I am failed to enter Standard 1 a year earlier.

My application has been rejected and failed.

Don't know when the letter reached as we were not around since 27th but the date on the letter was 27-Dec.

That means I have to go for another year of K2.

Mommy will be helped me to register for a new kindergarten.

Token of Appreciation

This is also a back dated post.

After the potluck, it's time for the progress review of the year.

As this is the last year I studied in this kindy, mommy decided to give a gift to all my teachers in school as token of appreciation.

We planned for the gift some times ago. I tried to make some art work as the gift.

Mommy bought me this Princess Moulding & Painting Kit which will make into fridge magnet.

The kit provided us with moulding compound, a mould, water color & brush for painting, magnet and double side tape.

We have to start from moulding. Mommy helped to make the moulding mixture.

After it dried, I painted on the surface and.....see the result below:

Not bad, right? But mommy said I didn't paint properly and those princess turned ugly.

Actually the mould size is about 10cm, it's small for me to paint according to the outline especially on the face.

Then, we decided not to give teacher the moulding princess. We changed to photo frame.

We bought so wooden frame from IKEA when we visited to KL.

I painted some pattern and picture on those frame to make it more attractive.

Each of the teacher will receive a mug & a photo frame as token of appreciation from me.

It's a set of fork & spoon and chopsticks.

Potluck 2011

Well, this is a back dated post.
The potluck for our school happened on end of Nov and the next day after potluck is progress review with parents, just like previous years.

This time, mommy baked some mini cupcakes for us. Mommy passed the camera to teacher and asked to take some photos during the potluck.

Not only party, this day is also prize presenting day for Academic and Reading Awards.

Mommy also help me to prepare these goodies bag for my friends.

There is no sweets, no snacks inside. This round we put photos inside.

Those photo been taken during the Music Video recording the other day were all printed out and give to each of my friends accordingly.

I got 2 trophies for this year, 1 for Academic and 1 for Reading.

The 2 trophies are now added on to my trophy collection.

A week before, it was prize presentation for coloring contest & writing contest.

I didn't get any trophy on that day and I cried in the school.

Teacher informed papa about this when he came to fetch me home.

Teacher said I have put too much pressure on myself and ask mommy & papa to have counseling session with me.

Mommy knows I will cry if I didn't get the trophy as this is not the first time.

Mommy did advise me that we won't always be the winner for all the competitions, and mommy never scold me if I failed to get any of the trophy. But I just can't hold my tears when the moment comes.

It's not easy, right? Especially for my age. Not easy for me to understand all this complication, to me it's complicated.

I just want the trophy, why can't I?

Not easy for mommy to advise me or counseling as I may not fully understand.

One thing mommy feel release was: I know to take action to improve myself, though it's the wrong direction :p

Teacher told us story about the girl that won 3 trophies for coloring & writing contest. She is a fullday student and she very hardworking study / writing during fullday. Not like some of the kids, they just spent their time playing, watching TV...

After listened to this story, I told mommy I want to go fullday in December. At first, mommy also wonder why I want to go fullday as after that 1 month experience, I don't like to eat the meal prepared by school. I don't want to go fullday.

But this time, it's requested by me to go for fullday, kind of surprise to mommy.

After few times question by mommy, this is the answer I gave to mommy : Fullday can get many trophies mah....

A week with BB

BB, my little cousin spent a week of holiday at Ah Mah's house.

This is his first trip back to Ah Mah'shouse.

Now BB is about 9months old, not able to sit by himself yet but he can recognize people already.

On the first few days, he doesn't want Ah Mah or mommy to carry him.

He will always look for 姨姨 whenever we carry him and his started want to cry.

Fresh Fruit Tea House

Last Saturday, we, Ah Mah, 舅公，姨婆 visited to a tea house at Bukit Mertajam.

It's Fresh Fruit Tea House.

There are few in Penang, there even got 1 near our house area. So, what is so special about this shop? Well, it's open by mommy's cousin. That's why we purposely paid a visit to this shop even it's at BM.

Before this visit, even there is one shop near to our area, we never visit that shop.

Mommy always thought that it only sells Tea, like bubble tea.

However, it's not just selling tea, it got food menu as well.

Below are some of the food that we ordered.

Choices of menu included: Japanese Curry + Rice, Spaghetti, Fried Rice, Bread, Fish Ball...etc.

It's a good place for hanging around if you like tea. Sorry, mommy loves coffee more :p

Graduation Concert Nov'11

It's time for our school annual graduation concert.

This year it happened on Tuesday night, while past few years it's on Friday night.

This year is my graduation year, therefore this is my graduation concert.

Not like previous year, I was there to participate in dance performance only.

Still got dance performance this year and the song we choose is 月亮代表我的心。

We were requested to make our hair curly, wear long black stocking for the dance performance.

Mommy brought me to a salon for hairdo on Tuesday afternoon.

See, my hair turned into curly.

Mommy also bought me a bouquet of flower for my graduation.

Take a photo together with Ah Mah & 弟弟 as both of them will not be attended the ceremony.

1st events was graduate students sing graduation song 红蜻蜓.

2nd, we all gave the "Papa and Mama" card to our parents.

Either papa or mommy has to came up the stage and get from us.

After that, it's graduate representative speech session in 3 languages.

I represented for Malay speech.

The finale, each of the students got a t-shirt and Smurff pencil box.

Not to forget to take photo with my close friends and teachers.

弟弟 refuse to take milk

弟弟 refuse to drink milk few weeks already.

He kind of lost his appetite few weeks back.

Usually, he eats a lot. He can finished 300ml milk, then 1 hour later he will be asking for food again, like bread, biscuit, porridge...etc.

He started with can't finish his milk, always there is some left over milk for every feeding.

But now, he asked for milk, but he just drink for 1 sip. Then he will pulled out the milk bottle and gave to mommy.

We tried many ways to get him drinks the milk.

We get him cold milk, changed milk powder brand for him but he still refuse to drink.

However, he finished 1 bottle of milk on Thursday morning and this is the only milk he drinks for the week.

Though he doesn't want to drink milk, luckily he still takes bread, biscuit and porridge. Just nowadays the portion he eat is lesser compare to last time.

Mommy brought 弟弟 to see doctor about low appetite. 弟弟 has no weight gained since last month.

Doctor prescribe him a medication for the worm, suspected it was worm issue.

However, after take the medication, 弟弟 still doesn't want to take milk.

One thing weird is, though he refuse to drink his formula milk, he does drink the full cream milk that mommy bought for us. What is the different between formula milk and this?

Rotavirus?

Tuesday afternoon, after nap I vomit after drunk a pack of Dutch Lady kids' milk.

At night mommy brought me to see doctor.

Doctor said it might due to wind that caused me vomit. But he did say that I may have diarrhea as well. Doctor gave me a can of chrysanthemum tea as he mentioned the liquorice in the chrysanthemum tea can help to comfort windy stomach.

On the next day, 弟弟 also having the same problem. He vomit in the morning.

I started to have diarrhea on the next day and it persist for about 5 days.

However 弟弟 only have diarrhea for 1 day. He lost his appetite since vomiting.

He only eat some biscuits and bread. He doesn't like milk at all.

Again, we visit to doctor but this round is for 弟弟.

Doctor said we might having mild rotavirus infection as both of us started with vomiting then follow by diarrhea.

I almost recovered at the fifth day but 弟弟 symptoms is kind of different as he didn't diarrhea for few days. In fact, he didn't have bowel movement after that 1 day diarrhea.

Every year there will be a graduation song for the 6 years old students to sing during the graduation concert. This year, our graduation song is 红蜻蜓.

This year, there is a special arrangement by our school. There will be a music video shooting for this song. We were asked to gather in school on Saturday morning. After that we all went to Youth Park by a school bus.

We had a birthday party to attend last weekend.

It was BB Jay's 1-year-old birthday. His dad get him a buffet birthday lunch at Tong Hoi seafood Restaurant.

Interview & Test

Today I woke up at 6am as mommy said we must got to Nibong Tebal for an interview & test.

This is because I applied for early entry to Standard 1.

All the kids whose birthday from 2 to 15 Jan are allow to go for early entry but need to go for a test & interview which normally held on Sept/Oct every year. This year SK Saujana Indah at Nibong Tebal is the host for the interview.

We were there about 8:10am though the time for interview mentioned in the letter is 9am. We went there early as don't want to trap in traffic jam especially it's morning working hour.

Still early, not many people yet.

After the speech by the officer from Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri, we were asked to line up and go to the classroom at Level 4 for the interview & test.

The officer mentioned that there will be 3 types of test: Writing, reading & drawing. That's the reason we were asked to bring stationery and color pencil along.

Parents are not allow to follow us to the classroom, not even outside the classroom.

All the parents are required to stay at the waiting area which is at the ground floor.

Line up...ready to go...the teacher told the parents it will take 1.5hr for the test & interview.

We all went up to the classroom at 9:30am but I only came down at 12:30pm :(

Why? I told mommy teacher called my name so late. I wait for so long. I think I was the last 5 as when I came down, only few parents is there waiting for their kid.

At first, we took the test for Malay, English & Chinese. Then we wait for teacher to call us for the interview or oral test, also in 3 languages.

I told mommy English I am ok, Malay some know how to answer, some don't know.

Chinese also same as Malay :p

Mommy tried to ask me what are those questions for test and interview. But I can't remember all, below are some questions that I able to recall.

1) Malay - rearrange the sentences like:

Ini cincin kakak

Baju Emak cantik

Bapa suka sambal

oops, I read as "sampah" and I told mommy "suka" is like, why papa like rubbish? therefore, I arranged in wrong sequence.

2) Given a picture on the growth of a frog, from egg(frogspawn) --> tadpole --> young frog with tail --> adult frog

We were asked to put number in proper sequence to indicate the correct life cycle of the frog.

3) Coloring - 黄色的香蕉...I just able to remember this.

4) Chinese - 笔画，哥＝几画？

For oral test, I was asked to read in Malay, Mandarin and English.

I told mommy some chinese word I don't know, I skipped :p

For Malay, one know one don't know...I think mommy don't understand what I meant.

We will get informed about the result in the mid of Dec.

However, after listened to all my feedback, mommy said she needs to find a kindergarten for me for next year.

Pimples, blisters, bumps...?

弟弟 has a mild running nose last week and there are 2 red bumps on his leg and 1 on his wrist. Mommy took him to see doctor as we thought is chicken pox. However doctor said this is not chicken pox and ask mommy not to worry even is chicken pox, the red rashes will go away after few days.

On Friday, Ah Mah told mommy that 弟弟 rashes has became serious and it comes out on his back and right arm.

Mommy brought 弟弟 to see doctor again. At first doctor worry it's Hand-Foot-and-Mouth Disease, but 弟弟 mouth, palm and foot are clear, no blister or red bump.

Doctor said it might due to allergy but don't know what he allergic to. But it's not from food allergy as it only happened at certain spot/area.

See the rashes on 弟弟's arm. Some are fluid-filled blisters, some looks like the blister popped and left a brown crusts.

The rashes on 弟弟 back, lesser compare to his arm and most of the blister are dried.

Fun At Playground

Last Saturday, actually we planned to go to park in the afternoon. However, the plan changed and we just went to the playground.

It has been such a long time I didn't play with my scooter. That's the reason we want to go to park.

I think this is 弟弟 first time playing the slides at the playground, especially the tube slide.

He was scared when he want to slide down for the first time. But after 1st try, he just likes it and can't stop playing it.

Logos Hope - the floating book fair. Swettenham Pier, Penang is the current port for Logos Hope. She is here since Aug and going to leave Penang port soon.

This is the first time we know about floating book fair. Mommy takes this opportunity to bring us there for a visit. We went there on Friday, is a public holiday actually. Surprisingly there were not many people. I think most of the people visited much earlier than us since she was here since August.

The book fair area not very big, but it's big enough for us.

Besides the book fair area, there is a cafe, a children playing area as well.

School Break Short Break - Langkawi (Sept'11)

Here come our 2nd short trip during the school break on end of Aug - Langkawi.

This is the first time I went to Langkawi, same to 弟弟.

We decided to take flight to Langkawi as mommy worried that 弟弟 & I not able to take the long hour ferry ride. It takes about 3 hours from Penang to Langkawi by ferry but it takes only 20min by flight.

弟弟 is getting elder and he can understand more on what we said. This time he is quite behave in flight.

He sit on his own seat, fastened seat belt. Though it's just 20min flight, he fell asleep.

Our hotel in Langkawi - Holiday Villa Beach Resort & Spa.

It's located at Pantai Tengah, a long beach just behind the hotel.

I like beach! This is what I told mommy.

We went to the beach in the evening on the first day.

弟弟 and I have fun with the sand and we tried to build sand castle but failed as the sand there is too dry as we were quite far from the sea.

After that we went for swimming. This is also 弟弟 1st swimming.

He was very enjoyed in the pool although he just "walked" around.

2nd day, is our 'park visit' day. We went to Underwater World, Bird Park and Crocodile Farm.

Before we started our park visit journey, we had our breakfast in The English Tea Room which just located opposite Underwater World.

Coffee, cheese toasts, sandwiches & cupcakes, these are our breakfast.

Mommy ordered 1 cupcake for me but the shopkeeper was kind enough and he gave me 2.

In the late afternoon, we went to visit the Eagle Square. Renovation work in progress and the weather is so hot. We just stop for a short while.

I told mommy I want to go to the beach again after all the activities on 2nd day.

We spent another hour at the beach before we went for dinner and this is the end of 2nd day.

Two of us walked on the beach...far from mommy

On the 3rd day, we went to Oriental Village before we headed to airport. We didn't take the cable car up to the top station as we need to catch the flight back. Mommy promised we will be back next time for the cable car.

At the airport and this ended our Langkawi 3D2N trip.

Mid Autumn Celebration 2011

School Break Short Break - KL(Aug'11)

Long holiday at the end of August, no school and no work for mommy as it's public holiday as well. We took this opportunity to go for a short distance trip. This time Ah Mah followed us to KL for a break as well.

As we need 2 rooms for the accommodation, we chose The Gardens Residences.

We had stayed in The Gardens Hotel before and it's very convenience to us especially with 弟弟 around. It's at Mid Valley City, attached to The Gardens Mall and link to Mid Valley.

Our unit: 2 bedrooms deluxe.

It is like an apartment with living room, kitchen, dining area, balcony and 2 bedrooms which attached with bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, microwave, cutlery..etc.

What we did in KL? Nothing much, just eat...and...shop...

We didn't know those famous food area in KL, therefore we just dinning in the shopping mall.

We tried the chinese cuisine, western food, sushi and food court.

The sandal that bought in KL

As always, my collection. This time I got Pony Camping Trip.

It's close to Mid Autumn Festival at the time we visit to KL.

We got chance to see lots of different design of lanterns and mooncakes as well (see the other post).

It's a week long holiday, we just went to KL for 3D2N? Well, after KL there was another short trip actually.

We rest for 2 days after back from KL, and then we headed to Langkawi for our 2nd short break :)

Mid Autumn Festival 2011

Time flies...it's Mid Autumn Festival again.

May be we have forgotten the legend of 嫦娥奔月, we forgot about 吴刚伐桂, but we always think of mooncake & lantern when we talked about Mid Autumn Festival.But at least we know that this is a festival that we celebrate together with our family.

This year we got chance to go KL for a short trip during school holidays.

We saw many types of lanterns there. Got traditional, modern, electronic..etc.

Even mooncakes also got many cute design besides those traditional pattern.

Lantern in KL, see the Hello Kitty lantern? It's actually a bubble blower.

Mommy initially planned to buy me the Hello Kitty lantern (on the left of the photo) and get the Pooh lantern(on the right of the photo) for 弟弟 but they are quite expensive. They costs RM25.90 each.

Mommy bought this Doraemon mooncakes. 4 pcs and we get the cartoon bag.

We got a traditional lantern when we had our dinner in Tai Tong restaurant.

I chose a Hello Kitty and mommy chose 弟弟 a small fish design.

Airfryer

Mommy bought an Airfryer from Philips. Ah Mah also bought one after she watched the demonstration in shopping mall and also tried the samples.

The best thing about this Airfryer is no oil needed! Mommy no need to worry about the left over oil after fried.

Besides, it provides less smell compared to normal frying as there is an integrated air filter.

It is fast, for nuggets, fish fingers, fries, it only took 10~15mins. While the food is processing, mommy can do others stuff as she no need to stand there and take care of the frying process.

It is easy to clean as well, less oil. That's why mommy like it.

The fish fingers that mommy tried with Airfryer for the very first time.

It's Izzy! Who? It's a character in Jake and The Never Land Pirates.

Jake and The Never Land Pirates, this is a new cartoon on Disney Junior's which premieres on 11th July.

There is a crew of kid pirates: Jake(the leader), Izzy(the girl) and Cubby.

I watch the cartoon every night and I like it very much.

Charity Food Fair 2011

2 weeks ago there was a Charity Food Fair at Casa Permai Park.
Our school Charity Fund is part of the organizer.
Therefore, parents were encourage to support this Charity Food Fair by buying coupons for the food fair.

Each of the schools were participated with dancing performance, just same as our school's carnival 2 months ago.

It was drizzling that day, therefore just after we finished the performance, we went home immediately.

James Foo Western Food

James Foo Western Food restaurant@ Fettes Park, this is a new restaurant to us.

But James Foo western food has been run their business for so long...from a stall in coffee shop till now a big new restaurant.

Somehow, we never tried before.

Last Sunday we think of having western food as our dinner and mommy suggested to go there as one of her friends recommended, nice food and reasonable price.

The restaurant open at 5pm and it is close on every Monday.

We reached there before 6pm, no waiting, able to get a table of 7. Well, paternal grandparents were meeting us at the restaurant.

The menu: Fish, Lamb, Beef, Chicken, Pork, Combo, Salad & Soup.

I was taking the order. Papa said he wants M1...

Finally he got something to eat.

We also ordered mushroom soup but it does not taste good.

It's like those canned mushroom soup with a lot of pepper, we still like Mizi mushroom soup the most :p

We ordered 6 main dishes, 2 mushroom soup, 3 drinks and all this cost us less than RM70.

The price here is really reasonable, therefore we cannot complaint much.

By the time we left the restaurant, a long queue outside the restaurant awaiting for seating.

Luckily we were early.

My 1st Piano Exam

I took the piano exam in May'11. The level I took is for Piano Preliminary and this is from Australian Guild Music & Speech Examination Board.

The exam was on the same day of my school academic exam. Therefore, mommy request teacher to let me take the exam in the morning as I have to left school by 10am for my music exam.

Today I got the exam result. I was awarded with Honours. My score was 88/100.

Our progress update

As of now, I'm 5.5 years old and 弟弟 is 2.25 years old.

Our weight: 15kg & 11kg

Our height: 104cm & 88cm

弟弟 can speak most of the simple words. He can follow what we said but not more than 2 words. He likes to follow what we did and he eats everything that we eat.

He likes cold drinks only, doesn't like to drink plain water unless it is cold.

Cartoon that he likes are Pororo, Timmy Time, Mickey Mouse Club House, just like me.

He knows the body structure such as face, ear, nose, mouth....etc.

But he still very naughty and become more naughty.

Now he doesn't want to sit on the car seat, he likes to sit on his own.

He likes to walk by himself, seldom like to hold hand.

I still a picky eater, but now I can eat those food that I never tried before.

I can eat sushi now and my favorite sushi is crabstick sushi.

I also tried hotdog but not really like it.

I can wash my hair by myself but most of the time I still want mommy to help me.

I learnt how to cut my fingernails.

Some times we are very close, we play together, share the toys but some times we are fighting for the toys.

My First Permanent Tooth

About a month ago, my tooth started to shake.

We didn't do anything as it's just a minor shake and doctor did advise not to extract at that time.

Now, it shakes more and becomes much loosen. Besides, we can see the permanent tooth behind the shaken tooth. Therefore, mommy decided to pull out the tooth.

Mommy also seek advise from Aunty Mei Ling on how Xin Yi 姐姐 pull out the tooth.

However, we dare not pull out by our own, papa bring me to see dentist.

As we didn't make any appointment, most of the dentist are fully booked and not advise us to walk in :(

Finally papa brought me to the dentist nearest to our area and....my tooth is pulled out!

After the extraction, see the permanent tooth? This is my first permanent tooth.

Half A Day in Balik Pulau

It's durian season and mommy's friend is organized a half day trip to a private estate for durians! They love durian, some how papa & I do not like it :p

A big group of us, take a group photo as memory before we headed to the beach.

I was complaining to mommy as I think they stayed too long at the durian area.

I want to go to beach at soonest especially it was cloudy on that morning.

Finally, we were there -- Pantai Pasir Panjang, Pulau Betong.

Mommy last visit to this beach was many years ago when she was in university.

This is 弟弟 first trip to the beach, however he fell asleep and didn't have chance to play with me on the beach.

I like beach as I can play with sands, build sand castle.

However, the sand over here is very hard to build sand castle.

May be it's too rough and too dry.

Having fun on the beach...playing with uncles & 姐姐.

The estate owner also make durian cake and mommy used to buy from him every year.

Ah Mah only likes this durian cake. Mommy bought some back home, each cost RM7.

After beach, we planned to go for Laksa. However, mommy can't remember the location and we also can't follow the leading car. End up, some of mommy friends went to old market for Laksa, and some of them went to the desired place.

Though we missed to take Laksa there, mommy's friend is kind enough to deliver 2 Laksa to our house. Mommy still able to taste the Balik Pulau Laksa at the end.

Overall it was a great trip but 弟弟 and I were tired and we slept on the way back home.

I told mommy I want to go to the beach more frequent as my last trip was 2009, 2 years back when we visited to Damai Laut :(

Father's Day 2011

It's Father's Day.

As usual, school will be helping us doing some art & craft for the occasion.

This year, we made a trophy for Papa.

This is made by a paper cup. Before school holiday, teacher requested each of us to bring a paper cup to school for this purpose.

Mommy helped to request an empty cup when she bought McD. However she only managed to get a small cup from the service crew. Therefore, mommy got me the recycle cup which from her large McD meal.

That's why my trophy is in big size compare to others. We should get a medium size paper cup :p

Besides the trophy, I also made a card for papa.

This is the card, I drew a choo-choo train inside there.

Mommy baked some cupcakes for papa.

This is 1st time mommy tried on fondant cupcake.

Not much color we have as mommy only bought 2 fondant color - red & green.

She didn't use the green color this round as she tried to keep as less coloring as possible.

The yellow fondant is mixed by using normal coloring which is not advisable.

We took a photo with the cupcakes.

We had a dinner at The Manhattan Fish Market on Sunday night.

As usual 弟弟 always make noise while waiting for the meal to be served.

Mommy ordered Fish n Chip for me to share with 弟弟.

And...two of us able to finish it!

Father's day is not as popular as Mother's Day?

We didn't see big crowd of people in restaurants on Sunday night.

We were late or we chose the restaurant which is not that preferred for this occasion :p

2nd Visit To Butterfly Farm (Jun'11)

This is my 2nd visit to Penang Butterfly Farm.

During my 1st visit to butterfly farm, I was scared of those butterflies.

We actually went there last Sunday, however it was closed for renovation till last Monday.

So, this weekend we went again for a visit. This is 弟弟 1st visit to Butterfly Farm as well.

I am not scared of butterflies anymore. Though this is 弟弟 1st visit but he doesn't scare as well.

At first he looked at the floor for butterflies as he saw shadow on the floor. After we pointed to him, he knows where to find those butterflies.

At home, I told mommy this visit is FUN!

What a great fall

I feel down on the floor last Sunday while I was running towards my room.

Immediately I stood up and walked into the room as I don't want mommy to know about the fall. Unfortunately mommy saw me fall down and she followed me to the room.

Inside the room, I was crying with hand holding on my face as it's too pain for me. My face knocked on the floor.

As I was crying, mommy looked into my mouth and found that my mouth was bleeding. I think I knocked on my mouth as well. Mommy asked me to gargle and clean my mouth, luckily the bleeding stopped. Mommy checked my teeth and there is no shaking tooth.

Still cannot stop crying...no more bleeding on mouth.

On Wednesday, I told Ah Mah that my front tooth is shaking when I am eating.

Mommy came back from office and took me to see doctor as she thought the fall has caused my tooth loose. However, after the doctor checked on me, she said this might not due to the fall, it might be the time that want to change to permanent teeth. That fast? I'm just 5 years old. But doctor said this is about the time.

Mommy said must take a photo of my teeth before all change to permanent teeth.

The circle tooth is the one shaking right now.

See the greenish spot on my cheek? The bruise spot changed to green after few days.

New Art Class - Da Vinci

I joined the art class during my Full Day when Ah Mah not around.

After Ah Mah came back home, our life back to normal and I go back to half day school.

I cannot continue the art class as it is on Thursday afternoon.

But I like painting & drawing.

Mommy bought me a tumbler and I decorate it myself.

I drew a Minnie with mail box and my tumbler now become Pink Minnie Tumbler :)

Since I like drawing so much, mommy enrolled me to Da Vinci art program.

This art class was recommended by my school teacher.

The program I registered is for 12 classes, each class 2 hours.

My 2nd drawing from the art class. The first painting is kept by teacher as she said want to compare before and after the program completed.

This is the 3rd painting. Not only draw & paint, we also do some art & craft.

School Carnival May 2011

Our school organized an indoor Carnival in a primary school.

The event held in the hall and all 6 branches of kindergarten gathered here and have fun.

Good arrangement as we no need to stay under the sun especially recently the weather is so hot.

As opening of the carnival, all of us dance "Chicken Dance" together with crowns, school's mascot and teachers.

Games area, total there were 7 games prepared by school. We need to buy a coupon with RM10 for the Carnival. This coupon included a popcorn, ballon, games, body & nail art, art & craft.

Besides games, there were helpers selling sandwiches and drinks in the carnival too.

While waiting for our turn to perform on the stage, mommy helped to take some photos.

As it's Sunday, 弟弟 was following us to the carnival.

He managed to take a photo with one of the mascot and took the sweets as well.

What a bad luck as the CD can't play while we want to dance.

We had to wait at the backstage till teacher managed to get a replacement CD from one of the parents I think.

Just got down from the stage, took a photo together with 弟弟 first before start to play the games.

The first game I chose to play is "Angry Bird". I managed to hit the black bird, see it's fell on the floor. The second game was "Hit the Bingo", I only can put 1 ring in.

弟弟 want to play the game as well.

Overall, I only played for 2 games and get a craft and a popcorn from the counter. That's it.

The other counters were too long queue and we cannot wait long as 弟弟 was around.

Papa helped to line up while we were playing the other games but we gave up at the end.

It's a short event, it only last for about 3 hours. Not really very fun as it's too crowded but at least I experienced a mini carnival now.

Mid Year Progress Review 2011

It's time to review my progress in school again.

We had our 1st semester assessment (Test) a week before school holiday started.

Same as last year, parents required to go to school to meet teachers for the review.

This year I'm in K2 which is 6 years old class and we need to prepare for Standard 1.

There are 6 subjects for test: Science, Moral, Malay, English, Chinese and Mathematics.

I told mommy I was dizzy when I counted those stars. I missed out 1 star and this caused me lost 3 marks for mathematics.

This is part of my report card. It is not only captured our academic result, it also record our behavior, attitude, social development, cleanliness and others in school. I got B- on "not selective" on food as I am a picky eater :(

Cradle Cap

姨姨 BB has more serious cradle cap compared to me and 弟弟.

Mommy said 弟弟 is more compared to me. We never bother about 弟弟 on cradle cap and till today I think he still has some random spot of thin, brownish layer on his scalp.

But see 姨姨 BB's scalp, the cradle cap is so thick. He has a thick, yellowish, scaly skin rash on his scalp. Previously it appeared on his eyebrows as well. Now only left the scalp area.

Doctor advised 姨姨 to put bb oil on BB's scalp and then softly comb the hair, this will help to remove the cradle cap.

After applied the bb oil, we comb the hair, it helped. See some of the yellowish "dandruff" came out.

A new bag for me

Mommy never expect I will request to buy this design of bag as I never mentioned before that I like the cartoon design.

However, I told mommy this is Sasha. One of my friend in school is using this design of school bag.

Ah Mah Birthday 2011

Ah Mah birthday is on May.

This year Mommy baked Ah Mah a cake and I did help on the decoration.

Mommy also made it as cupcake for me.

I help to put the flower & heart shape candy.

Tada....this is the cake looks like.

We put longan & peach on the cake and also in between layer.

弟弟& I blow the candle together with Ah Mah.

4tbsp water

4tbsp melted butter or corn oil

4 eggs

At night, we brought Ah Mah to Charlie Brown Cafe for dinner, the same restaurant as 弟弟birthday celebration.

Mother's Day 2011

We visit to 姨姨 house again.

This trip purpose is to bring back Ah Mah & 弟弟 whom has been stay there for 2 weeks.

We seldom at 姨姨 that frequent previously.

Since we were there and it's the month of May, we celebrated Mother's Day & Ah Mah birthday in Johor this year.

I think this is the first time we celebrate Mother's Day & Ah Mah birthday together with 姨姨.

We had a lunch together with BB in a restaurant.

The food we had. I got my favorite fried prawn.

The fried eggplant + chicken floss is quite special, never tried in PG before.

We also bought a cake for Ah Mah - Durian Cheese.

The durian is so rich but unfortunately mommy was sick, she just tried a small piece.

That was a week before Mother's Day celebration that happened in Johor.

Here is another celebration in Penang on the Mother's Day eve :)

We brought Ah Mah for a dinner on Saturday night.

We went to The Ship in town.

We had set dinner which special for Mother's Day promotion. A complimentary gift was given for every order.

The gift is a plate with The Ship logo.

Prawn salad as appetizer, this is good.

Soup with corn (don't know what soup was that :p)

Garlic bread special ordered for me and cheese cake as dessert.

Seafood combo (salmon, scallop, squid & prawn) that Mommy & Ah Mah ordered.

But mommy didn't like the salmon, too many bones.

弟弟 Learning ABC

Mommy said I learnt to recognize ABC while I play with the 'play n learn laptop' that 舅舅bought me many years ago.

弟弟 also learnt ABC from those learning gadget and this time he learns from iPad.

There is a learning game in my iPad. 弟弟 can recognize the alphabet. He also can read but not in proper pronunciation yet.

My First Movie In Cinema

My first movie in cinema - Rio.

I am so excited and can't waiting for the movie as I never been to cinema before.

Mommy tried to describe upfront to me as she worried I'll be scared inside the cinema.

Big screen as TV, loud sound, very dark when the movie is playing...what mommy told me.

Awaiting for seating, we got a free popcorn combo with the purchase of tickets.

This is 3D movie, each of us is provided a spec.

But I feel uncomfortable with the spec, I removed it half way of the movie :(

Overall, I am still enjoyed the movie though I am not watching it in 3D mode.

I would like to go for movie in cinema again.

A Trip to 姨姨 house (Mar'11) - 2

We went to 姨姨 house by car, therefore we were free to go any place we like.

After the short trip to Melaka, on the way back home, we dropped by KL.

Remember we missed the Petrosains during our last visit to KL? This time we purposely went to KLCC just to visit Petrosains.

Everything is new and interesting to me but most of them I can't understand why.

This is the most fun area that I like the most as I can played with those image.

Art Class

I always request mommy to let me go for Art Class but I never been before as it fall in the afternoon. Nobody bring me to school in the afternoon.

Since I'm going for full day care, mommy let me take the Art Class in school.

And this is the most attractive part of full day care.

We are using crayon for coloring. School provided us the apron to prevent our clothes become dirty.

A trip to 姨姨 house (Mar'11)

We visited 姨姨 after she delivered the BB.

We took this opportunity to go around for a short trip during our 4 days stay in her house.

The nearest place to visit is Malacca.

We spent about half day in Malacca, really a short trip.

We only able to visit the Zoo & Red House.

Some changes on the town and there is a big shopping mall which to us it is "newly" opened.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to go in.

Zoo Melaka

It's a hot day, luckily I got an umbrella.

In the zoo...

弟弟 saw mommy took photo with camera, he also requested to take the camera and he put so near to his eye as he used to see mommy used DSLR. He walked like this in the zoo for most of the time. His little finger was actually closing the lens, how to take photo?

After visited zoo, we went to Red House area in town. There is a big shopping mall and to us it's "newly open". Unfortunately we have no time to visit that mall.

Taragon - a restaurant that served Nyonya & Western cuisine.

We had our dinner there.

There are many trishaw in Melaka and they all beautifully decorated with flowers.

I never tried trishaw before and I did request to have a ride. Mommy not agreed as it's already evening and we have to go back to 姨姨 house soon. Perhaps next time I will got a chance to try a trishaw.

We also dropped by Tan Kim Hock for some famous Melaka local food & snack.

We met with the owner and he gave us free lime juice with sour plum, the one I hold on my hand.

弟弟 2-year-old birthday

We celebrated 弟弟 2-year-old birthday on last friday. It was an early celebration as 弟弟 won't be around on his birth date.

Mommy chose a new restaurant to celebrate the birthday - Charlie Brown Cafe @ Straits Quay. It is newly open and just about 1 week old when we were there.

I think the cafe does not have a birthday song CD, they called almost all the staffs inside the room and sang the birthday song for 弟弟。

The food is normal but the hot coffee is quite special as there is Charlie's family faces there. However, I do not recognize any of them, I only know Snoopy :p

When 弟弟 not around...Part 1

弟弟 follow Ah Mah to 姨姨 house to take care of BB.

He will be away for about 2 weeks.

I am still go for full day.

But we no need to rush here and there to fetch and send 弟弟 to 奶奶 house.

To me, this is great as now nobody fight with me, nobody grab my toys.

I can play anything I like without worrying it will be taken by 弟弟.

Today, mommy bring me to Starbucks Coffee.

See....the little boy is so curious and he wants to play with me.

Full Day Care in School

Today is not any special day but I must write something on today.

Today is 4-Apr, first week of April and Thung starts her Full Day care in school.

Changing from half day to full day is due to my mum is not around for 8 days. I have no bb sitter then. After my mum came back from vacation, she needs to help on taking care of my nephew whom stay in Johor. No choice, have to go to school for Full Day.

Thung was a bit excited and looking forward to go for Full Day.

This is something new to her. She asked a lots of questions before that such as:

mommy, where is the sleeping place in school?

mommy, lunch and dinner will serve the same food?

mommy, can I bring Scott to school? I saw my friend eat in school also.

mommy, remember to bring my pillow and blanket.

Then, today is the day.

I sent her to school as usual and told her I'll fetch her in the evening.

By the time I reached school, I asked teacher how she was doing.

Teacher said ok...at first cannot sleep may be due to new place, but after a while slept also.

Lunch got some vegetables, she tried to push aside. Teacher didn't force her to eat but asked her to try next time.

Overall, from her expression and 'story telling', I think she likes it.

She even said :"I want to go for full day when Ah Mah come back."

However, after a while, she told me don't want full day as she scared Ah Mah will missed her....LOL!

Where is 弟弟？

Well, initial plan was to go for day care as well. Unfortunately he doesn't like it.

Now, day time he stays with mum-in-law and we will bring him back at night.

Our trip to visit 姨姨

We visit to 姨姨 after she delivered the BB.

This was consider as my holiday's trip as well.

We went there by car as we want to carry some BB stuff to 姨姨.

See, our car was so full....we brought BB cot & cradle which occupied most of the space.

Mommy even brought the small mattress there, it's the whole set of BB cot.

I have to sit on the last row of the car. Ah Mah sit with 弟弟 on the 2nd row.

We didn't have chance to have dim sum in Ipoh as 弟弟 was sleep when we reached Ipoh.

Not to wake him up, we continue our journey without stop.

By the time we exit Yong Peng toll, I was having some crackers. After finished the 1st piece, I told Ah Mah I want to vomit. Luckily mommy did prepared a plastic bag for me as she knew I'll vomit if I took long journey drive. Papa stopped at Yong Peng exit and I have some cleaning there.

This time considered improved already as during my 1st car journey, I vomit by the time reached Ipoh. Not really long distance, right?

A busy afternoon - Fishbone

Today after school, when I am about to take my lunch, I feel like want to vomit and stomach ache.

However, I didn't throw out and I continue to have my lunch.

Ah Mah fried fish for me as she knew I like fried fish. I had the lunch by my own as 弟弟 also want to eat, Ah Mah has to feed him.

Half way having lunch, I told Ah Mah I want to vomit and I started to throw out the food I taken.

I told Ah Mah I swallowed the fish bone (Ah Mah already made sure there is no fish bone there) and I kept on vomit when I continue to eat. Without any delay, Ah Mah called papa and asked him to bring me to see doctor.

It's lunch hour, therefore we have to wait till 2pm for the clinic to open.

We went to paediatric clinic but the nurse directed us to see Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist.

Long queue over there and the doctor was out for operation. I have to wait till about 3pm for my turn.

The doctor pulled my tongue out and put a tube inside my throat to check for the fish bone.

From the camera, we didn't see any bone inside. I told papa the bone swallowed by me while we were waiting for doctor :)

Since cannot find the bone from camera, to be safer, doctor recommended to go for x-ray.

This is first time I went for x-ray. Papa accompany me inside the room. Oops...papa exposed to x-ray twice within 6 months. 1st was during 弟弟 admitted and now the 2nd time. Luckily there is a protective kind of vest for papa to wear on.

X-ray result also showed no fish bone. Doctor said it might be too tiny to see and he gave me medicine that help to soften the bone, if any. Papa told the doctor that I have cough since Saturday. Doctor said cough might make me feel like something stuck on my throat and I thought it's fishbone.

By the time we reached home, it's already 5:30pm. What a busy afternoon.

Now I'm ok and feel better. But is that really a fishbone or my illusion due to cough?

I also don't know as I feel like something inside my throat and I think it's fishbone.

A Newborn

With the arrival of new family member on 9-Mar-2011, we were busy for the month of Mar.

Besides, the newborn also changed our daily life schedule.

We purposely visit to 姨姨 whom stay in Batu Pahat which is around 8 hrs drive from Penang.

We stay there for 4 days and we took this opportunity to plan a short visit to Malacca as well.

Mommy said now only feel that 弟弟 is big enough.

Now he becomes 哥哥.

I told mommy I want to buy some gift for BB and mommy bought me this.

This is a music box with light reflection on the ceiling. I want to let BB listen to the music before falls sleep.

We came back from Johor on Tuesday and mommy was going to Hong Kong on Friday morning.

Now we all back home but Ah Mah is going to Taiwan on early Apr.

After came back from Taiwan, Ah Mah is going to Johor again to help on taking care of BB for about a month.

弟弟 will follow Ah Mah during that time.

With this kind of arrangement, I have to go for fullday in school as nobody take care of me in the afternoon.

弟弟 will be needed to go for fullday as well but mommy will let him try for 1 or 2 days first before confirm.

Since this is the first time 弟弟 goes to nursery.

Buffet Dinner - Spice Market

Buy one free one on international buffet dinner at Spice Market, Rasa Sayang Resort is back!

We followed mommy and her colleagues to go for a dinner there and there were a big group of us.

The 2 biscuits is for 弟弟.

As usual, I took my favorite strawberry ice-cream.

Mommy said the Tiramisu is yummy.

I met so many jie jie and we took some photos, same as 弟弟.

He let one of the jie jie carried him and take photo, not scared at all.

2011 Chinese New Year (辛卯) - Get Together

CNY also a good time for people to get together.

Most of the relatives, friends, family members back to hometown for the re-union.

This is also the time mommy met up with some old friends.

This year, we managed to met up with Auntie Jestina. The last time I met her was Mar 2009.

At that time, 弟弟 was not born yet. Therefore, this is the 1st time 弟弟 meet her.

Auntie Jestina bought me a soft toy -- A Teddy Bear. Thank you so much.

During the met up, I played with Xin Yi jie jie and 弟弟 also 1st time meet Xin Ming 弟弟.

We also had a dinner together with 舅公 & 姨婆.

This dinner is to celebrate 五姨婆 birhtday. She is 60-year-old this year.

舅公 reserved a table at Federal Restaurant (forgot the correct name, previously was Federal cinema) but mommy complaint that the service is so poor.

The restaurant got lots of mosquitoes. See, they put a mosquito repellent under the dinning table. We heard the table next to us also complaint about mosquito and the waitress suggested to use the repellent.

However, when we request to light up the mosquito repellent, we have to wait for long time. They were busy with others stuff and looks like forgot about our request.

One of the mosquito dropped on our dish and 舅公 feedback to the waiter. However, he just keep quite and take away that dish. After that mommy heard that guy talked to his colleague about 舅公 complaint and laugh, they thought that we were funny as we complaint about mosquito.

See, this is another mosquito dropped into 舅母cup of drinks.

2011 Chinese New Year (辛卯) - Visiting Relatives

What we did during CNY?

Visiting relatives!

From one to another, from here to there. Just busy went to relative's house. But this year, we just went for few relatives only.

We were ready with new clothes...waiting for papa, then we will start our journey.

As previous year, we visit to paternal relatives which we need to go to Parit Buntar on the 1st day.

However this year, a bit different. We visit to one of mommy's relatives first before we headed to Parit Buntar.

There is a puppy in the house! 弟弟 likes the puppy very much.

He can goes very close to the puppy, I think he never see this kind of puppy before. He is so curious on it.

After that, we went to Parit Buntar.

弟弟 & I having fun over there. I played with 叔叔 & 婶婶, while 弟弟 enjoyed walking here and there.

On the 2nd day, we visit to 大姑婆 house. Almost all of maternal relatives were there.

2011 Chinese New Year (辛卯) - Kek Lok Si Temple

As usual, we will visit to Kek Lok Si temple during CNY.

During CNY, the whole temple is lighten and it's really spectacular.

In fact, this year we went there twice. First on the CNY eve, after the reunion dinner, it's still early and papa suggest we went there since the traffic is not that heavy yet. Normally, heavy traffic jam happened on that area during CNY.

Our second trip was on 4th day of CNY. Don't know why, papa tried not to go to downtown to avoid traffic jammed, and end up we went to Kek Lok Si temple again. But this time, we went up to the 观音area.

2011 Chinese New Year (辛卯)

It's Chinese New Year and this is the year of Rabbit.

As usual, we were busy preparing for CNY.

New clothes, new shoes, spring cleaning, cookies making....etc.

Mommy baked some cookies just like previous years.

And...I am waiting for the arrival of 舅舅. I know he will get me some presents.

Finally, 舅舅 is back and I got this...

This year 舅舅 brought back his photography accessories. See, we just like taking photo in a mini studio.

This year we don't have steamboat as our reunion dinner as only 舅舅 is back.

姨姨 not come back this year.

Chinese New Year Theme

2 more days is Chinese New Year.

Today we all wear Chinese New Year's costume to school as part of the theme. All the teachers wear red color shirt also.

I wore this Cheong Sum which mommy bought a year ago. Oops...I don't like to wear it as the collar makes me feel uncomfortable. Finally I got chance to try it.

Teacher also helped us to do some craft for Chinese New Year decoration.

See the 'fire cracker' I hold? I cut the red packet and teacher helped to glue it as a cylinder.

When all put together, it's like a fire cracker.

弟弟 & computer

This computer was bought by 舅舅 when I was 2yrs+.
弟弟 not really likes this computer but on and off he will be taken it out and play for a while.

Nowadays, 弟弟 will play with it almost every night especially when he saw papa is using the computer. He likes to follow and do the same thing as what we did.

See...弟弟 even likes to put the computer on his lap, just like papa.

Sometimes, he is so serious when he play the computer.

I think he don't understand what are those game for, he just listen to the music and words that computer play and simply press the keyboard.

Sometimes, we shared and play together happily.

Sometimes, we fight to get that computer...

My 5-year-old birthday

It's my 5-year-old birthday!

Same as last year, I celebrate my birthday in school.

Mommy helped me to order cake per my wish -- Minnie.

As usual, we prepared the goodies bags for my friends in school.

This year I got 弟弟 as helper.

Mommy also ordered cupcakes to put in each goody bag.

However, the cupcake is not made per what mommy expected.

Mommy let them design for us and just told them it's for kids' birthday.

End up, the cupcakes came like below :( Mommy was quite disappointed as we won't expect it turn up to be that simple.

To make it more attractive, especially to small kids, mommy tried to decorate with her some colorful hundred & thousand and colorful heart shape sugar (luckily mommy still have stock).

I got a gift from my nursery & my friend as well.

Teacher drew me a heart on my hand before I went home.

At night, mommy brought me out for dinner as a celebration.

This is my birthday dress, I used to get a new dress from mommy on my birthday.

I had a cheese cake and as promised, I got an ice-cream!

Birthday Card
